GOODBYE TO THE OLD "COLD WARRIOR" (my Dad)

Announcing his passing, it was with a week left in August, right after we celebrated his and mom's latest birthdays.

I was just saying at work, how someday, I will inherit a very fine S&W 686 (no dash) but I'm in no hurry. Funny thing how fate works, I can't remember if it was my last day at work before he passed, or the day before. I still feel cheated out of time with Dad.

But I'm not here for sympathy, I'm here to talk about heroes and Guns. He left me a few nice pieces, more ammo than I knew he had (thanks for listening DAD!!) and lots of memories. Plus a nice little stash of Silver, Constitutional Silver, plus some rounds and bars

I'm sorry for your loss, OP.

He's in a better place. I'll be praying for you.

My heart goes out to all of you for your loss.

My dad and I never got along. It was bad, so bad all I will say is that He was a bitter, mean, man with his own demons
he died alone in 1990 .
Neither my brother or I attended.

My father and I did not get along well, either, though not to the apparent extreme of you and yours.
Dad and I were too alike in some ways and too different in others. We got along much better late in life, though not nearly as well as I would have liked. He passed in 2006 at age 74. Much too early, IMHO.

I hope and pray you have come to peace within yourself for the trouble caused by your father's demons.

The family is doing well, Dad had a lot set up for us and I'm turning the corner on the financial stuff. Got most of it going forward now.

Dad had another nice old S&W, the 13-1 and it's also in very good shape. I like the tradition of making sure to shoot it on his birthday @1KPerDay like you said we can do that for our Dads together That is an awesome looking model 15

How about a child that is totally physically disabled at birth without hope of improvement and no opportunity for surgical or developmental assistance?


She is now 41 years old. Born to a wheelchair and 100% dependent on others for her care, nutrition, bathing and personal elimination and hygiene needs; she cannot even wipe herself. Her intellect is stunted (as best we can determine) at about the 7 year old level. She is my daughter and I love her dearly. Not a day goes by that I do not think of her. And her condition tears at my heart.... every.... single.... day.....
