Got a new Pietta '60

Either I got lucky or Pietta has learned to make the bolt a bit smaller so it will fit in the slots. Took it apart to file down the bolt, guess what, it doesn't need filing.

Haven't shot it yet, something I have to remedy.
 
I will have to do that to my 1851 Pietta . Do you file the whole bolt or just the part that sticks up out of the frame? I know to leave the hooks alone. Thanks.

If you have to narrow the bolt to fit the notches, only file the part that is visible above the water table. If you were to file the part of the bolt that remains in the frame, the bolt could wiggle while seated in the cylinder notch and allow misalignment of the chamber and barrel.

Please review Pettifogger's instructions before doing anything.

Odd, I can get pictures of a dragonfly's eyelashes, but seems like guns are hard to photograph!
