I went to the gunshow today and got rid of my Chicom SKS with the intention of helping to fund a new CZ 452 purchase, but unfortunately there were only two at the entire show, both of them scouts. So onward I went browsing the tables until I found a very nice Russian SKS for $220.00! Compared to the rest of the prices there this one was a great deal (plus it was a private sale). Chinese were going $250plus for a ratty one.
Anyway..after a little researching when I got home I found out it is a Russian 1954 TULA . The black bolt and markings on the stock and reciever indicate that it is a rearsenaled rifle. The bore is also in extremely good condition with sharp rifling. It looks as though they may have replaced it with a new one. The stock looks like a refit as it has an XXXX'd out number with the correct number stamped and then varnished over. The rest of the rifle has all of the serial #'s matching completely with no lineouts or discrepancies. On the right side there is the importer stamp CDI SWAN VT as well as CCP04429 stamped on it. I'm not sure what that code means because it does not match the original rifle serial numbers and lookes like it was put on by the importer. The "MADE IN RUSSIA" stamp is also the same looking. The bayonnet also looks as though it was a polished metal and not the "frosted" look of the Yugo SKSs.
I would honestly rate her as VG condition with minimal wear.

I've never heard of CDI. Are they still in business?
Good Shooting
