I took my Taurus Millenium Pro to sell at the gun show today and ended up trading straight up for a Sig P225/P6. Any day you can trade a Sig for a Taurus is a good one lol. The DA pull is pretty heavy but SA feels nice and the gun fits my hand like a glove. It has a couple small nicks on the frame but overall it's in really good shape. I saw several others at the show that had pretty bad holster wear. By the way, are the frames steel or aluminum?

That pistol sells for just around 300.00. You can get them at Aim Surplus for 269.95 with two mags.

The problem is there are no more factory mags to be had. People are listing factory mags on Gunbroker for 75.00 or more.

I think I want one too.

Yeah, the guy told me he would have sold this one for $300. The others there went from $325 with lots of wear on up to $500 lol

You got a nice one. :)

I dont see the import mark on it in the usual places, which is even nicer.

If you want a nicer DA pull, it will cost you about $4 for the mainspring. Its easy to swap and for another $20 or so, you can get the armorers CD that will show you how to detail strip and reassemble the gun. Its well worth more than the $20.

Your P6 will also have a sheet metal slide vs the machined slide. Most people think the sheet metal slide balances better. I agree. I want to get a SIG myself and refuse to pay 800 for one. I already have other 9mm pistols so this is just so I have an example of a SIG P series.

As they've become scarcer, the prices are going up. The local shop across town has them in the case at $449 (which is why I buy only what I know is priced right from them).

I recommend doing an internet search and see what they're doing elsewhere before buying any hot item out of the case. If you can buy one for $249 +shipping + gun dealer fee, you're probably looking at about $350 and a three day or so wait. If it's worth an extra $100 to go shoot that day, buy it out of the case.

I bought my P6 for $318 out the door at a local shop, and I love it... not the "Sig love" that some of these guys have, but it's a fun gun to shoot and accurate. I'm getting overrun with 9mm's, and it's hard to keep enough ammo to shoot them all without buying case lots... but that's okay too...:D

I'm sure taking a second job to pay for ammo would cut down on my use...:banghead:

Although I like my PT145, I recognize full well that the resale value is only slightly above, say, a Jennings, so I think you did outstanding in getting such a nice P6 straight up. I've almost bought one of these P6s on more than one occasion, but the magazine situation and a rather dry pool of replacement parts temper my enthusiasm. For the price, though, there's not a better value on the surplus market and you should be able to shoot it a good long time before something other than springs needs replacing.

I didn't get an owners manual with my P6.

Has anyone scanned, copied, etc. the factory manual? I would gladly pay for a copy if anyone can help out!

I have a P6 and really enjoy shooting it. It is comfortable and accurate. Just wait until you take it to the range, you will more than likely be very pleased with the trade. I believe it is one of the best pistol deals available today.
