Got a W.German P226 today!

I was out gun browsing today at some of my local shops and I stumbled upon a W. German Sig P226 and just had to buy it! Came with the original box and paperwork and an extra mag. The only thing missing was the original grips and I'm not a big fan of the Hogue grips that are on it, so I to replace them eventually.

After buying it I took it out on the range and I was completely satisfied with my purchase, the gun shot like a dream.









50 rounds of American Eagle 9mm at 10 yards.

Get some hogue checkered aluminum grips. They are a little pricey but well worth the money. The grips dig it and hold position in your hand while shooting.

I was talking to a coworker the other day and I mentioned that I picked up a Sig P226 with ugly Hogue grips on it and was looking to replace them.

Today he came into work and said he had something I might be interested in. He said that he picked up these grips not too long ago at a gun show for his 226 but he wanted to get rid of them and put the Hogue grips I had on my 226 on his gun. So I gave him my Hogue grips and another $20 and we both parted happily!

I love the grips and they look far nicer than the Hogue ones I think. They remind me a lot of VZ-Grips but unfortunately my co-worker couldn't remember the name of the person who makes them and there's no markings. I'll keep digging and update this thread if I can find out.





On a side note these grips look and feel very much like the VZ-Grips I have on my custom BHP, makes for a good combo!

That is a nice gun - one of these days I'll add a P226 to the collection, and that's exactly what I want when I do, an older West German gun with no rail. Looks good with that Hi Power too!
