I have had tinnitus since 1979 and am very careful about guarding my hearing when doing anything noisy. But today I got excited by the sight of a trio of varmints crossing in front of me and let fly with a mag full from my 9mm pistol without hearing protection on. One would think that I would know better after 40 years but I guess buck fever got the best of me.

I hope the ringing in my left ear subsides to its' usual level sometime soon.

Oh nice! I’ve ran into a badger in eastern Washington while shooting ground squirrels. Very cool animals

I hope the ringing stops, I have severe ringing and well I just wish some one would answer the phone. I made alot of poor stupid decisions as a youth and no one stopped me..... I would fire until my ears ached and then stop and be mesmerized by how I could not hear my mom and dad. Well I turned 30 this year and it's a quite existence, I can't hear my wife, machine shop Forman, anyones kids, pretty much all the above write down important details and I take in info that way.

Would I do things differently yes I would but the damage is done so if I have to pop a round off with my 44 magnum all I hear is a bang instead of a KABOOM and I don't worry about it.

I tell everyone I take shooting to use foam plugs on top of ear muff style protection.

Use hear protection so you won't lose that hearing.
