Well, today I swung by my local gunstore and bought a new CZ 452 Silhouette. I am not sure how the Silhouette differs from the other 452 rifles. Anyone here know?

Anyways, while at the gun shop I bought a bipod as well. A Muller scope is on order and should be here next week.

I love the look of CZ 452 Silhouette's I think they are one of my favorite .22 CZ's..... so how much did you shell out for this great rifle?

BRIAN HOW DARE YOU......WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THAT BEAUTIFUL RUGER?????....im just kidding, that looks like a great hunting rifle

how did you paint it without gumming up the action?

I paid $340 for the rifle today.

What kind of ammo does the 452 like? Can I use the cheap stuff?

Also, I ordered a scope, and am unable to find rings. I need rings for a 1inch tube (the scope). My rifle has a 11mm dovetail and will require medium height rings.

i sprayed it from about 6 foot away, with the action out of it, and masked off, so it didnt get inside the reciever. then, i put the action back it, and just sprayed it ever so slightly just to hide the bright steel. i want to get one of those packs that replaces the stock and the barrel, and ill probably do the same thing to it. i like the way it looks. and it really blends into the forest. pluse, it was kinda fun. brian

Mine likes CCI MiniMags but those are kind of expensive..wait a sec...what am I saying:scrutiny:??? psssssh $5 for 50 rounds is dirt cheap....:D I think I have been around rimfires for too long... I suggest you try many different kinds of ammo and see what it likes. Your rifle could like somthing that the next rifle dosent...

Synthetic stock, heavy barrel, no iron sights. I believe it's pretty much the same as the Varmint except for the synthetic.

Are there any problems with dryfiring my CZ 452?

This is my first real rifle where I had to buy a scope and rings. The rings I ordered are below. They are 11mm to fit the rifle's 11mm dovetail. The rings fit a 1" scope tube.

I also ordered a Mueller APV 4.5–14×40 AO scope seen below:

Can anyone here observe the two links above and tell me if they think the rifle, the scope, and the rings will all fit together has hoped?

Thanks

The Silhouette has the American barreled action.

The BKLs are pretty popular for the CZs (have two or three myself) but the OE CZ rings are pretty good also (all steel and built like tanks - with the exception of the bolts which will snap the heads when over torqued). If you would like to keep the rifle as light as possible, (I hate to say it as they are not my top choice but use them for my CMP Rimfire Sporter gun to keep weight down) the Millet Angle-Locs also work well. Some folks use the Weaver adaptor for the grooves and open up the ring selection even more.

The 452/453s are dry fire safe. Even says to do so in the manual.

tsidorus, do your B-Square rings have a stud like thing coming out of the bottom (see the pic in the link I posted above). If so, how did you work around this stud?

Also, what height are your rings? Are they the exact same ones as I posted above?

Lightsped, does your new CZ .22 have two action screws or does it use one action screw and one barrel lug screw?

A pic of the underside of the rifle would be most interesting.

I often scratch my head over how CZ decides which action to stock attachment system to use on its varions rimfires.

no laughing please

Remember, you can only be insulted by someone you respect.

Laughing at another man's gun is just wrong. Very nice, I'm sure it will bring much enjoyment.

Now that you post this it comes to my mind that I've never owned a bolt action .22..... wow never thought about it. Pump ,semi, and lever, but never had a bolt.

May need to put that on a list somewhere :) Very cool....
