It came really really fast. When I applied, I was told here on THR it can take up to 90 days.

It took about 2 and a half weeks from mailing it to me receiving the license for me. Ironically, that's the same amount of time it took for my CWP from mailing to receiving.

I'm not sure why, but I got two identical letters with a copy of the license in each. Everything was identical. It simply was an envelope with the license. Just a computer glitch you think? Or is there a reason for that?

So, what to buy first? Also, I've been told some places give discounts to C&R licensees? Where?

actually, I take that back. It wasn't even 2 and a half weeks.

Looking back at the original thread:

http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=361820

it's been 2 weeks and 1 day.

and I just remembered that I asked about the discounts in the last thread, so I see I have the answer to that. :)

I'm a little worried though. From the other thread:

I received my C&R in about 30 days from the time I mailed it. You will get a very large info packet from BATF and the license itself will come in a fairly plain blue envelope. Be careful you don't discard it when it shows up in the mail, I almost did thinking it was junk mail. It is an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper, do not sign the original. Make a bunch of copies, and only sign them when you send them out.

Here is a link at ARFCOM with some good info:

I didn't get any info packet and the license(s) (duplicates) came in white envelopes.

I do see it says on the paper:

"Dear Licensee:

...

If this is your first license, publications and an initial supply of forms which relate to the conduct of business as a federal licensee will be mailed from the ATF Distribution Center..."

Well, a C&R isn't for business, but I assume that I will get an info packet?

I will need to buy a log book now.

You won't get a log book, but you will get some guides to federal and state gun laws, and some other assorted bureucratic stuff like an address change form.

Congratulations, and be sure to set up FFL accounts with Brownell's and Midway and such!

Don't sweat it, my license showed up last week and I got the "big info packet" on Wed this week. I bet you've got yours by the end of next week.

They know I got the license. They're happy for me.

They don't realize I'll soon be broke.

Oh good. Glad to hear they weren't supposed to be in the same envelope.
