A Springfield Armory Micro Compact .45.
The one with the stainless steel slide and silver colored aluminum frame with Armory Kote finish. It also has the "slimline" Cocobolo grips and night sights.

So far, I like it. I haven't shot it yet, and I know these 3" 1911s have a reputation for questionable reliability, but I'll give it a try.

The 1911 bug has bitten me, I know I will need at least 2 more (a 4" and a 5"). There's something special about the 1911 that the wonder nines and polymers just don't have. I can't believe it took me so long to get a 1911.

Range report to come...

Go get 'em. I picked up another one last month, and have been thinking about another.

I haven't weighed it myself, but I've read on-line that it's 24 oz. unloaded. It's definately small and light enough to make for comfortable concealed carry. But, hopefully it's got enough heft to be controllable.

That weight's on par with my Kimber Ultra CDP, along with being the same size. Probably a lot cheaper too!:( And yeah, it conceals and carries delightfully. Don't worry, the recoil is easily manageable, even with Hydra-Shoks.

Stevie-Ray, I have an Ultra Carry in .40 SW. I got curious about the 40 SW since it came out. After a brief stint with a S&W 40 VE I traded for the Ultra Carry.

I was planning on another 45 in a compact, but, after shooting the 40 Ultra Carry, I may just be hooked. This is as mild as a full sized Gov't Model in handling.

The Ultra Carry had quite a few failures to go into battery in the firest 50 rounds. After the second 50 it seems to have cured out. Haven't had any failure in the last 100 rounds.

Still got that bug for a 45 compact though.
