Went to the show this weekend, and came away with a Yugo 59/66. Overall not bad condition, but the bore is horrible. But when I took it to the range yesterday, it shot great. Almost as accurate as my 10/22, but I have a better stock, sights, and trigger on the ruger. But for $110, I feel a good starting point.

I do have a question for some AK gurus here, the same place has a bunch of WASR 10's for $335. Is this something that is worth having and worth the money? I know, very vague question, but may call the seller and get one of those to stash in the closet.

Thanks,
Jim

Nice job on the rifle deal. Ain't Yugo's awesome :D . Can the WASR take hi-caps? (I keep forgetting which one's can/can't :banghead: ). If so, and if everything looks good, I'd say to buy one--it's a good price, and a fun gun. That, and with the ATF's ban on barrels in kit guns, I expect the price to rise at some point in the forseeable future. So, I'm in the "get 'em while you can" bunch, but YMMV.

Either that, or get 3 more SKS's :p

The WASRs are imported as single stacks.
Now that the AWB is gone, they are machined once here to accept hicap magazines.

I have one, I'm very pleased with it. When you get it, make sur eto clean out the receiver, it will have metal chips in it from the milling process (might need to deburr the mag well with a file also, as the mill hands apparently don't know how to deburr their work when done.

Overall though, I think the WASRs are nice guns, the ones being imported now are new production, not kits assembled on Century receivers. It would make a fine companion to your Yugo SKS.
