I ordered a "comp 1" speed loader for J frames. Just tried it out. Someone said the comp 2 holds the cartridges tight. Well, they wiggle in the comp 1 just like the HKS. However, for some reason they feed a little better into the cylinder anyway than the HKS, but main thing is they release smoother and with less movement. Just hold the body of the thing and shove it in and it dumps. Sometimes it does take a jiggle, but at least you don't have to pound on it like the HKS. And, it's a bit more compact since there's no knob sticking out. All in all, six of one half dozen of the other, but the comp 1 does seem to work better. If I could have gotten a comp 2 for J frames, I would have, but all Sportsman's Guide listed was the comp 1. They do have comp 2s for the K frames. Thinking I might eventually order two or three for my Model 10, but I don't carry that gun. I have used it in revolver matches, though, and needed speed loaders. But, the priority was my carry piece of course. I generally only carry one speed loader and one Bianchi speed strip with the gun so I just ordered one.
