Had to find a sword bayonet available, but it is great shape, mounted on the old Enfield. Not exactly a practical idea in todays world, but it beats harsh language hands down...

I like the one for my 91/30 better. But I'm afraid if I put it on, It'd never come off!

Ah the first variation No9 bayonet. They are a thing of beauty, mainly used by the navy and made between 1948 and 1962. Of course they should be on a No4 Mk2 rifle.
I personally looking for a No7 with the adjustable pommel that allows it to be used as a knife too.
Don't forget theres also the No 9 bayonets from South Africa, with the double sided bayonet that went to a spear point and from the 60s. Also works on the like of Uzis and a few other firearms.

Now that just seems like a waste of steel. Of course, I see the Brits with blades on the front of their current rifles, and I wonder if they would be in head-butting range by the time they can stick the enemy. Yup, there are trade-offs in everything and they got short and handy at the expense of being a pikeman.

NO KIDDING! My friend decided to attach the bayonet to my newly acquired 91/30(we had just got back from the gunshow)....took us about 10-15 minutes to get it back off. Talk about some sore fingers.
That's the last time I put that thing on.

I find the No1 Mk3's 18 inch blade rather effective in the imtimidation effect. Alot easier to get off then the Mosin's too. The only problem with the really long bayonets is they effect your point of aim quite substantially.

I think next time I'm at the range I'll do some comparisons for shooting with and without the bayonets for my two rifles...
