Well, I finally got her to go shooting with me. :D She seemed to have a good time. She had taken off of work to attend a diabetes class (diagnosed 2 weeks ago) with me.

After the class we went out to eat and then to the range. Since it was during the day on a week day it was perfect. We had the range to ourselves. I took a .22 pistol and my Springer 1911. Took some time to go over safety, function of the gun, sight alignment, and loading the magazines.

Her shooting was real good for a newbie. Assuming I can tak her into going more often, I know it will improve. Here groups were 5" - 7" at a distance of about 5 yards. She even listened real good about stance. No feet together, arched back, gun as far away as possible stance for her. She didn't even seems bothered when I shot the .45 in the next stall. Although I did wait to shoot until she was reloading her magazines.

It was a good day. Shooting is still something that she could take or leave. I don't think she is a future gun nut, but she did seem to enjoy herself. Heck, I even shot much beter than normal. I think because I was so happy that we were shooting together.

Shared spousal shooting is good ... very ''relationship welding'' ... well IMO. Reminds me, Mrs P95 is overdue a practice session - so come a dry and not too cold day - must do it.... particularly since she got (at last) her CCW not long ago.

IMO a wife need not be a gun nut - or even find a huge interest in guns. But the simple fact that she will go to range and shoot - is a big plus ... and that almost presumes too she ''supports your habit'' :p

Great stuff!! :)

Congrats! That's great.

My wife expressed interest about two weeks ago. Unfortunately, she's expecting our fourth and neither of us wants her to go until after the baby.

I don't expect she'll ever be a "nut" either, but just shooting together every once in a while would do wonders for me :D

Well we have been together for 7 years and married 5 years ( 6 in april). This is really the third time we have gone shooting together. The second time she went out she was 3 or 4 (don't recall exactly) pregnant with out lil shooter. Didn't seem to effect him any. He is now a very roudy 3 year old. He does seem to run around holding his finger like a gun and yelling bang bang pow pow. He has already pulled the trigger on a .22 rifle. Proud dad was holding the rifle.

It is always fun to get the wife out to the range. My wife really likes my 22/45 and the little flip up target I have.

My wife had an absolute ball with my Ruger 10/22 with a red dot sight. She was picking off empty 12ga hulls at 10 yards "just like a shooting gallery" in her words. She enjoyed it so much, I got her her own 10/22 for Christmas and put a red dot on it for her. She loves that rifle! :D For home defense, she asked me to teach her how to load, shoot, and unload my S&W 66 snubby. She likes shooting that one as well. :what: She'll never be a gun nut, but she does like to bring her toys and play with the big boys. ;)

My wife saw the Fear Factor episode last night when the group was at the range shooting an AR-15. My wife said proudly after one of the female contestants failed to hit the target after about a dozen shots, "I can do better then her and I've hit the bullseye before."
