picked this up at GT Distributors for 200 bucks + tax.

Not the best deal in the world but pretty good.

Just a reminder to keep an eye on your local dealer that deals with police trade-ins.

Same I I have since 1976. Purchased from Edleman's in NJ which is now Kimber. I still have the original sales receipt. $124.00 out the door. Used it instead of the department issued 870's. Only difference is the detachable sling swivels and leather sling and a high gloss finish on the walnut stocks.. Years later a Remington Extended magazine tube was added.

I took a quick look at today's 870's and wasn't impressed. Seems the trigger group was a synthetic.

These days it's sure nothing to complain about. The growing trend is for agencies to 'recycle' their 870s rather than trading them in.

it is a good deal...a hell of a lot better than the last one I bought.

I was not bragging about the price...just a friendly reminder to my High Road friends to keep an eye on keep an eye on police trade ins

You can find deals. I know a dealer that picked up a pile of PD trade-in Moss 500's for about 100 bucks each.

If I was in charge of that agency I would too. You would never be able to replace those 870s with a new equal 870.

On another note, I sometimes wonder if police departments really ever need to change weapons inside of 20 or more year windows.

Thanks Guillermo, I haven't been to GT in a while and never thought of them for a used 870. I'll be looking at them, as soon as I raise 200. Thanks! Jeff
