Hi Guys,
Which one balances better for target shooting? The full-lug 6" is just too heavy for me to shoot lead reloads.

My preference is for the 4", but I'm able to score the 6" half-lug for almost $100 less.

What do u guys think?

Thanks in advance!

For target shooting, I'd go for the 6 inch half lug. Longer sight radius makes it easier for the shooter to align sights properly.

Longer barrel will give slightly higher velocity (perhaps 50 to 100 fps more...depending on your load), lower felt recoil, faster recovery, yet will still allow quicker swing than a full lug 6 incher.

The $100 lower price is just icing on the cake, or 3,000 .38 spl reloads if you cast your own.

If you can get the half lug, do it. I've been searching for one at a reasonable price for years with no success.

I have the 4" full lug and really like it - it feels perfectly balanced to me. But I use mine mainly as a sidearm in the woods, not so much for target shooting at the range. For target shooting, and to save $100, I would have picked the 6".

I have a 4" full lug and I target shoot with no issues. Actually it's very accurate with my handloads.

The sight radius thing helps you shoot better, but it doesn't actually make the gun more accurate.

I would also agree a 6" barrel is best for target shooting. As for the weight of the barrel, you will get used to it the more you shoot.
