I am wondering if Ruger has made any changes to this gun?
The one I saw at a gun shop had over sized cylinder throats and a messed up front sight.
By over sized throats I mean I had a .431 diameter slug that fell through all five chambers, not sure what the bore and groove dia. was?
I sent Ruger a message about this and they replied "thanks for your concern"
Whats up with this?

Not sure what you mean by "messed up front sight".

Ruger puts a green fiber-optic front sight on the 44 Special model.
You can see it on the Ruger web sight, I saw it on a video there.
It's different than the sights on the other GP100 models.

Is that what you mean? Or is your front sight broken or damaged?

The early .44's did have problems with oversize throats. Ruger has addressed this issue however and I imagine one could return the early model to Ruger to have corrected. Some of the .44 GP's have the fiber optic sights, however, there is a model out (Talo?) that has a wood Hogue grip and brass bead front sight. Novak makes a number of replacement sights that will fit in different configurations.

Both issues have been addressed.
Assuming you're talking about the 3-incher, the chamber throats were going to be tightened & standardized from the first run of oversized & variable dimensions.
Ruger was made very much aware of the throat issue.

Mine (Gun 2) has .430s, the first one here was all over the place.
They're still a shade on the wide side, in my opinion, but at least Ruger listened & improved production.

The front sight dovetail has been mostly corrected, not as much daylight visible between sight bottom & barrel top.
You may still find SOME daylight there from gun to gun.
The front sight muzzle overlap was still there on my second gun, which I find annoying.
The dovetail needs to be consistently cut a bit farther back on the barrel.
Replaced it with a Novak brass bead that's a bit shorter.

But- overall, Ruger's improved in those areas.
