hello, i need to replace most of the springs in my gp 100, and rugers website does not list any revolver parts, even with part number look up. Is this a new thing, or is there another website? If anyone here knows where i can find the factory listing, please let me know, thanks

The Wolff or Wilson Combat kit has different weight springs for the trigger & hammer, the plunger springs are listed on Brownells & I think Midway has a listing now .

If your gonna go for a liter trigger let me recommend that you also shim the trigger & hammer to center em & reduce frame drag , shimming will also make the trigger pull more consistent.

According how deep ya wanna go triggershimms.com has different "packs" made just for Ruger DA/SA revolvers!!

Somtimes I up the anty & use CCI 400 sr primers on primer powered fun stuff & so I settled on the 10# triggerspring for positive reset & the 12# hammer for 100% reliability !!

I can handle a heavy trigger as long as it`s smooth/consistent !

1 of the worst offenders on the GP style triggers is the well the trigger return spring plungers rides , they must drill em out with bits from the trash pile ,but it`s easily polished with a 13/64" drill bit & fine lappin compound .the next is the hammer strut itself it`s stamped part & 1 side is very sharp , smooth the corners while ya got it apart ,& don`t forget the little slot it slides thru on the frame stirrup.

Enuff for now , oh if ya have`nt had the trigger out don`t pull the trigger with the group out of the frame , the cyl latch/pawl will move over & spring/plungers will eject to partsbegonesville!!
Until ya learn the in/outs of handlin the group do ya disassemble/reassemble in a gal ziploc to catch em;)

Ruger (and/or they're lawyers) do not approve of spring changing. For that reason they stopped selling springs among other parts. Springs are available form after-market suppliers, but should you send the revolver in for factory service you may not find them when it's returned. :uhoh:

If you call Ruger, they'll send you new springs. Or, you can send the firearm to them to replace the springs with factory springs, if they are rusted or damaged or have been tampered with.

thanks, i got them from midway, but was really wondering why they no longer listed them for sale, i guess old fuff has the answer, kinda sad we cant be trusted to replace springs now, thanks everyone.

Yeah, Ruger is pretty picky about keeping guns stock. If you didn't buy it that way, they won't sell you any parts, even if they're safe to use.

I was looking for the spring packs last week. eveyone was out of stock

If you didn't buy it that way, they won't sell you any parts, even if they're safe to use.

Actually they will be delighted if you switch out stock parts for aftermarket ones. :what:

By doing so you substantially lower their liability, because in the event of a lawsuit they will claim that whatever happened was because of unauthorized modifications.

And if they won't sell you parts they can't be blamed for doing so. :banghead:
