Last March a thread noted how the
GP100 hammer pivot pin can float
or twist outward when the gun has
the rubber grips with wood inserts
(the older style grips). In September
a few other members commented on
the "problem."
The grips on GP100s have typically
help hold the pivot pins in place. But
it seems some newer made grips
are a bit softer in the upper top
ridges.
So I tried Gorilla Glue---NO, NOT
on the pivot pin but on the inner right
grip ridge to stiffen it. It worked.
No more floating pivot pin.
To be fair to Ruger I've never heard
of a pivot pin working all the way
out . The design goes back to the
1970s Security Sixes.
