Does anyone know when the last time was that he was taking on new projects? I looked around his site but couldn't find anything other than November of 2008. I've got a Detective Special that I would like to have some work done to and I know he knows Colts. I don't know what the cost would be, but I figure the work would be expensive. I've never had any custom work done, but thought I might give it a try.

I'm not at all against looking into another custom smith either if anyone knows one that specializes in Colts and isn't backed up for two years.

Jojo's Gunworks in Southington, CT is competent in working with the Colts...and IIRC, at least one of the principals sharpened his teeth working at the Colt factory in W. Hartford, CT.

They overhauled a tired Colt DS revolver I had with outstanding results.

I'd try calling Cylinder and Slide.

Also, the following also claim to work on Colt revolvers. I have no experience with any of the gunsmiths listed, so this is meant only to give you a place to start.

Good luck.

Grant opened up his waiting list early last year. I suspect that he is still working on it. I was on it and ended up going to another well known S&W smith.

Grant cunningham

I emailed him some time back about having some possible work done on my Smith for use in ICORE matches. He suggested I get ahold of Randy Lee at Apex Tactical. My 686 SSR is there now, I should have it back it a couple of weeks. Mark

Randy is the other smith that I spoke off. He did my 686SSR too, plus a 66 and turned them around in 6 weeks. I do not believe he works on Colts.
