Proves the point that it's just as important to keep it concealed from panicky nitwits as it is to conceal it from goblins.

Providing that you live in an area inhabited by significant numbers of panicky nitwits anyway.

There are still plenty of places left in Free America where the sight of a holstered pistol worn in public isn't uncommon and doesn't raise any eyebrows.

You could paraphrase Winston Churchill and reply something like: "Yes, and in the morning I'll still be armed, and you'll still be ugly."

Yup round here you are just as likely to see some one open carry as any thing else. Had dinner in a truck stop one night with the wife and kids after hunting. Still had a 44 mag on my side when I walked into the dinning room. 4 Sheriff officers looked up at me as I walked in, then promptly went back to eating.

I'm super paranoid. It's a habit now that when i stand up in a restaurant or getting out of my car I pull my shirt down just to make sure I'm not hanging out all over the place. haha
I've tried this but found it works better to zip up my pants!
Sorry couldn't resist how you stated it.

I've had similar reactions when I was in a restaurant and took off my jacket to sit down to eat.

When I explain to them that my CCW permit only allows me to protect myself and my family and that the rest of you are out of luck, then they back up and think in a different manner. Until someone attacks my family or I, you better count on the police that are many minutes away, if they show up at all.
