I posted here about three weeks ago. I purchased a new Charter Arms Pathfinder .22 LR revolver with the 2 inch barrel in stainless steel in the beginning of February 2008. At the range, I found that the revolver shot about six inches low. I tried three types of ammunition but no change.
I contacted Dee Ecker at Charter 2000 and she told me that I could file the front sight down or send it to Charter 2000 and they would do the work. I sent it in on Feb. 19, 2008. Dee told me that the gun did not have to be sent overnight.
Unfortunately I asked my wife to ship it from the UPS customer service center. They told her that it was their policy that it must be sent overnight. They charged her $ 41.77 (includes a fuel surcharge). I have already complained to UPS. Whatever you do, do not ship firearms by UPS! Charter 2000 paid the return shipping charge and it was only $ 8.15.
I got the gun back on March 8, 2008. It came with three test targets. The service technician took quite a bit of metal off the front sight. I am glad I sent it in. I would not have had the confidence to take off that much metal. The work was smooth and even, very high quality. The revolver definitely shoots to point of aim now.
The service was quick (18 days including shipping time) and good quality. They even cleaned the revolver after test firing it. I am very pleased!
