Well it was my first day today in a four months. I decided to bring my XR-100, Mosin, as well as my new Beretta 84.

I got the during a HOT range, so I had to wait a good 15 min to actually put a target up at the 100 yard mark. I started shooting the XR, getting good .5" groupings. Moved down the Mosin, only about ten shots though do the cold, as well as recoil from that metal buttplate.

Well, I am about half way finished with my Mosin, when a guy comes to the range with an Armalite AR-50. I mention it's a nice gun and he asks if I want a shot. He wouldn't even take money for the round or shoot any of my guns in compensation. The recoil wasn't so bad, more of something like a heavy 20 gauge. VERY fun, though.

So that was my day at the range- I'd say a successful time for not being there for ~4 months.

Thanks,

AU

That funny, I just got back from my outdoor range and also had a good time. I let the guy next to me shoot my stag 2T. I shot his rifle(not sure what make model but it was a .416 caliber)

It was a good day to be at the range.

AR-50 is a fantastic rifle! You're right, recoil is between 20 gauge and 2 3/4" 12 gauge. I got the biggest kick out of watching a 9 year old girl shoot one and pop a bullseye on a 100 yard target that had been set up with Tannerite behind it. Shoulda seen her eyes when that target blew up!

Yep, it was a pretty fun day.

Although I did have some problems with Blazer brass in my Cheetah. About five times, when I hit the slide release on a full mag, the round would get stuck and not fully enter the chamber; or it would get hung up on the barrel and where the brass meets the bullet. As well, about 4-5 times, the slide would not lock back. It even felt as though something was spitting back in my face after every shot.

That's the end of blazer ammunition for me! Glad I only bought 50 rds of this crap.
