My parents who I rarely see were in Little Rock(about 30 miles away) and asked me to go out to dinner with them. I brought my Mark III with me to show them in their hotel room, because they have asked about my gun a couple of times. After dinner my mom who to the best of my knowledge has never fired a gun in her life said we should go to the range. I was amazed, but very happy. I explained all the safety rules to them before we went, and we had a great time. Even if I did have to keep telling my dad to keep it pointed down range, and not to the side while he was loading it. I ended up just loading it for him.
It was really nice to share something that I enjoy with my parents, by the time we left they were even talking about getting something to go to the range with themselves. I also made a new friend, the other guy at the range happened to see my Mark III and invited me to try out his customized Mark II. So we got to talking and we will be going shooting together real soon. Days like today can't be planned, they just happen.
