With hot AZ summers, I'm always looking for easy carrying handguns. I did wait until most of the problems with the sig 365 got fixed, and mine shot good and was easy to carry although I don't dry fire it much.
So I did grab a Hellcat and put the shield optic on it. 300 rounds through it so far, no problems. Very accurate and feels a little more substantial than the sig. Starting to get used to using the dot.
Got a couple holsters on order. Trigger feels better to me than the sig, more glock like.
Very happy with it so far.

Picked one up last week after being prodded to buy it by my Wife whi thought it was "Cute" and a nice Christmas present for her to buy me. At any rate, I did not get the optical sight because I believe a small gun is more of a back up than an EDC, but that's a personal preference. My EDC is a CZ P-01 and a CZ 97 b for cooler weather. I put 50 rounds of inexpensive FMJ through the Hellcat, and 25 rounds of 124 Grain Golden Saber through it. I really like it. Very accurate for a small gun and much less recoil than I expected due to a great grip design. Better trigger than other "Safety triggers" but not great. I'll probably buy a pocket holster (which I don't really care for) and an IWB. If anyone has holster suggestions I would appreciate any advice. I would really prefer an OWB, but I'm not familiar with that design for a small gun like this. The magazines are really the best design I've seen, but I suggest an Uplula loader as the last few rounds on the 13 and 11 round magazines are a bit stout to load. I'm going to put another hundred or so rounds through it then I'll be confident in it for carry. I almost forgot, the sights are very good and the gun came cleaned and lubricated out of the box. Nice touch! Size difference between the P-01 and Hellcat. IMG_3702.JPG IMG_3704.JPG

Wait just a minute here! Your wife actually encouraged you to buy a gun so she could give it to you as her Christmas present? What kind of strange, parallel universe are you living in?

Every time I ask my wife to buy me a gun for a present she says something like I have too many already (I do not...well maybe I do), and I still haven't played with the ones I got a couple of years ago (kind of, sort of; just haven't had the time).

Anyways good write-up on your Hellcat pistol. I'm also a fan of the CZ P01 and when I want to go smaller I go with my Kahr CM9. I like the DeSantis SOF-TUCK IWB holster for my CM9.

I think I might be sold on the red dots. Really doesn't add any bulk to the hellcat. Once sighted, I was getting some pretty good groups at 25yds. Way better than I'd do with irons. Faster? Not sure as I am still getting used to it. I was able to get groups without my glasses which is a big plus in a carry gun at my age. Durable? that might be a weak link. Might depend on carry method.
My advice to guys my age, give them a try.

I’ve got a standard one on backorder from Black Friday but keep debating on cancelling and looking for an OSP even though I don’t think I’d put an optic on it. Guess if I see an OSP in store I’ll grab it then cancel the other, if not leave on order. For holster, I have tons for my other cc’s, but always seem to go back to the Remora. A standard IWB works well for IWB and pocket carry. Get an owb and you’re good to go for all 3.

As a Glock owner, I love the 365 trigger over any Glock. But, glad you like your SA and it works good!
