I have used both in .45. The Green dot is slightly slower powder than red dot. Both are somewhat "dirty" but both worked fine. Right now you have to get what you can find and make it work. I would take either one but I prefer American Select. kwg

I use Green Dot with Berry 9mm Plated 115gr Round Nose

OAL = 28.35mm
GD 4.5gr
Lee Auto-Disk hole = .61
Bullet = Berry 9mm Plated 115gr Round Nose

Several years ago I ran across a gentleman who had purchased the reloading equipment from an estate sale. He offered me the powder for a price I found too good to pass up.
That included one 8-lb keg, one 4-lb keg and two or three one-pound cans of Green Dot.
Since then, I have been using the smaller containers of Green Dot and am about ready to start on the 8-lb keg.
Almost all of that powder has gone into .45acp cases with 200 gr SWCs (mostly MBC). I use 5 grains for .45 acp and find it just about perfect.

I've been casting Lee's SWC 124 grain which ends up being about 121 grain when using 20 to 1 tin in 9mm. Alliant told me to load Red Dot 3.8 to 4.2 They took it out of the reloading manuals because it meters very poorly(too light). Also REMEMBER RED DOT was "improved" last June, 2013 and made cleaner burning(MEANING its hotter.) They reduced MAX for this load from 4.5 to 4.2 Green Dot is very good, however, everyone I know swears by Unique for both .45 and 9mm

If u wish to get rid of the Red Dot or Green Dot or both, let me know.

I have used Green Dot 9mm 38 special 357 mag 45 acp 45 long colt 40 S&W 12 ga. Wish I had more it's a little dirty but I clean my guns no big deal

I finally verified my load as just right this weekend for 45 : 200gr LSWC behind 5.0 gr Green Dot, OAL 1.255.

I haven't finished testing my 9mm loads but was leaning towards: 125gr LSWC OAL 1.15 with 4.0 Green Dot. I have read on a Bullseye forum that 9mm is hard to get very accurate results with unless you use jacketed and a hotter load of powder. Also the Bullseye shooters have found that the base on a JHP is very good therefore its accuracy is among the best bullet for a 9mm with a hotter load. Interesting huh.

I haven't tried the Red Dot yet in anything. Thanks so much for the heads up on the modification 6/2013 and the lowered load. Will have to check my info on the cans.

FWIW Bullseye shooters I have spoken to like,surprise: Bullseye - and many Titegroup or VV N310 in their 45 ACP. It seems like Power Pistol is also a very recommended powder for 9mm.
