First of all, I want to say thanks to all of you who post your experiences and wisdom here for others to benefit from. I'm a new reloader and have a lot to learn. This is one of the first places I go to (after the reloading manuals, of course :)

If anyone is from or around Greenville, SC, that's where I live and I'm wondering where you get your supplies from? I'd like to pick up powder and primers esp. locally instead of paying the extra haz mat postage. I'm willing to drive a few miles, that isn't a problem. Currently, I'm on a business trip up to Pennsylvania and am hoping to stop by Cabellas on the way back to see what they've got, but once that runs out...

Thanks again!
Jon

Well I'm just a short hop up 25 from you. Hendersonville NC here. You just have to check all the local gunshop's. Some will sell reloading equip. and supplies , some don't.Ask around and find out where the other local reloaders get their's. I know that you just had a gun show there ( Land Of The Sky) and there usually is/are some supplies there.

gns4me, where do you go to in Hendersonville? I'm in Asheville and I'm also looking for a place that sells reloading supplies.

Rex's is where I go to in hendersonville. Actually it is on Upward Rd between I-26 and Hwy 176/25. He has a fairly good inventory on hand. (at least every thing I have wanted he has always had)

j-red, there is a place in Anderson that is suppose to be good according to a buddy of mine that lives down there but I can not remember the name of it. It ought to be in the yellow pages.

Anderson wouldn't be a bad trip at all. I'll see if I can't find out which one it is. If you happen to talk to him, see if he remembers the name.
Thanks

Grady's in Anderson has a decent assortment. I order a lot of things but I tend to buy powder and primers from Grady's. BTW, I live in Greenwood. If you're new here, welcome to the upstate.

There is always Morrison's gun shop near the mall. It's on 191 across from Discount shoes in the little yellow strip mall. There is also a bicycle shop right there. This is off 26 at the 191 exit( between there and long shoals area)

Presspuller & dbarale- There also is the gun show every two months in Asheville Civic center. I do that show with cast bulletts for sale. If I want a lot of powder or primers I contact a supplier in NE Georgia and he brings it to the show. He is there twicer a year.

I take it that is the Biltmore Sq. Mall you are talking about at what use to be exit #1.

I didn't know they were there.

It's only a little store but crammed full of stuff. He let his FFL go, I think, and only deals in BP and all shooting Accessories. He stocks a lot of used equip. and used shells. (The equip varies as to bought and sold). but I would rather deal with him than the other place (personal reasons).

I'm in Etowah, NC. Not in mid-town, but the west side surburbs. (That's and "inside" joke to those of you who don't know Etowah's population is about 900! I'm fortunate enough to have my own single point 100 yd range with a solid bench.) We have limited sources of components and tools in this area.

In Greenville, SC, there is (or was) a pretty good shop on White Horse Rd. but I don't remember its name.

In the Hendersonville, NC, area, "Rex's" is my favorite but he's restricted somewhat in variety and prices are a little high. I think the "Blue Ridge Sport's" store, on 178, folded but maybe not, they did have a small supply of components.

In Asheville, "Morrision's" is ok for a few items if you don't have to listen to him spout foolish loading and firearm "wisdom." (And, last I checked, he'd gladly sell you some used loading tools for little more than new, retail!) "Franklin's" sporting goods, the round store on the north side of Haywood Rd., used to carry a fair assortment of components but I haven't check with them in years.

"Grady's" in Anderson is the best stocked in this region but it's not as good as it used to be. There is another recently opened sports store on the "28 By-Pass" (on the west side of town) that was just starting to stock when I was last there. Don't remember the name but it looked like they were going to be pretty good.

As a recent cold-day lark, I took my wife on a day trip to Columbia, SC, to check out the new Sportsman's Warehouse just off I-26. We both enjoyed it. They are very well stocked with reloading tools and components and less expensive than Rex too. They have enough outdoor stuff to enjoy browsing the whole store. I'd suggest getting with a couple of buddies, share gas and go down there if you want more than a single can of powder or box of bullets.

Is that new place on the east or west side of Columbia? I've got some friends out at USC law school and may stop by the next time we get together.

The Sportman's Warehouse is just off I-26, northwest side of town proper, and on the north side of the interstate at that point. You can easily see it from the interstate. Suggest you do a web search to get the address and they have a "map" showing the store's location.

Traders Gun shop on Wade Hampton blvd. has the best selection in Greenville.
Next closest would be Grady's in Anderson. Rex's is in East Flatrock NC (not Hendersonville) and they have a great selection of reloading with better prices than previous two. My absolute favorite after Rex's is Sportsman's Warehouse in Columbia SC.

EAst Flat Rock vs. Hendersonville

Ron, you are right! East Flat Rock just seems so much like a suberb of H'Ville I sometimes loose sight of the difference! Thanks for the correction. :)
