I would not put the rough 'granule' sandpaper grip tape on a range pistol, but I'm wondering, is it

too rough for the average hands on a Glock 17 9mm that only gets used occasionally? I have it on

my Ruger LCP and I'm fine with it.

Trying to decide on rubber grip tape for the 17 vs sandpaper type.

I have a friend who, after putting griptape on his Pistol ( Polymer, but not a GLOCK, can't remember, maybe an M&P?), found it a bit much for a long range day, and ended up putting a rubber grip sleeve over it for such occasions.

I like tge skateboard tape on the front strap of my 1911s and sigs. Glocks seem to have enough texture that I dont need it.
