I carry my model 19 a lot and currently have the squeezed dog turd hogue grips. Looking for something less grippy on clothing and rounder on the butt. It's a square frame. I was considering the Jerry Miculek grips. Thin, wood, and round at the butt. Anyone have any other suggestions?

For K/L frame carry, I like service (magna) grips, and a Tyler t-grip. The Uncle Mike's boot grip is a excellent choice as well, but your cover garment tends to ride up on it.

Gotta agree with hAkron, magna grips and a tyler (or similar) grip adapter.

A 1 7/8ths" 64-4, and a 4" 19-3 up top. I even went to far as to take a CONSIDERABLE amount of material off the 19-3's old factory magnas and crudely re-checkered it. It's quick in the hand, and I can always find my grip over the smaller, smoother more contoured modified version. Plus; ALOT of clearance for the speed loaders, and works as a decent thumb rest.

literally, 75% of my S&W's wear magna's and T grips.

It might be an Ohio thing though :)

I love the Secret Service grips from Eagle Grips. Beautiful, comfortable and just the right size.

Forgot to say I'm looking at getting away from the finger grooves. I like the open back strap too and the front strap wrapped like the ones you guys suggested. Just without the grooves.

Oops. Didn't see the previous posts! I'll check those other suggestions out too! Thanks guys!

That is probably among the most concealable options, and I rather like how the combo feels in my hands as well.

Another option I like are Ahrends tactical stocks, sans finger grooves in my case. They are very slender, and don't protrude much below the grip frame, so they conceal nearly as well as the service stocks.

Just to be a "picky S&W nut" S&W calls the grips in #5 & #10 magna grips.

They call these service grips.

Ok, I'll go crawl back under my rock!!!

th PC Magna's like in post number 10 with a Tyler T grip works great IMO.

The PC Magna's are the ones that are more rounded off at the bottom vs. the regular Magna's that are more squared off like in post number 5.

It's a subtle difference, but I do find they are less likely to print. I was told the PC stands for Plain Cloths... as in Plain Cloths detective.

Yup,you have it right and if you're handy with a file you can make some PC targets too.

I wanted a similar set of grips, smaller and more comfortable to my hand, for my "N" frame. Grabbed a file and made these from a set of "K" frame target grips. Here is a shot comparing them to the "N" frame target grips.

Not real pretty but very comfortable.

hAkron,

In my defense, they do refer to them as service grips on the S&W website.

Ok, point taken here too.

Let's put it this way. Us picky old S&W pharts calls them that way!!;):D

There are magnas, high horned magnas, diamond magnas, non-diamond magnas, and PC/Modified magnas.
Don't get me started on Cokes, targets, football targets.......:D
