I have been subscribed to Groupon for a couple of years now and I don't ever remember seeing a gun related offer.

Playing devils advocate....

Who is groupons competitor ?

Their business model is so broken, their stock is falling through the floor, and most legitimate businesses wont accept them anyway.

We had a thread on this already where it was shown that they had "deals" from shooting ranges. Is this truly new or not and has anyone tried to verify the accuracy of the article?

I don't understand what you are saying about retailers not accepting them. That is not how they work.

You get a deal that you like, say $20 worth of food for $10. You buy it through the service and present it at the restaurant. The restaurant pays to have the deal created and promoted by LivingSocial or whoever the service is.

HSO,

Just got this email response

Thank you for reaching out to us. We appreciate your feedback and take these inquiries seriously.
Due to customer feedback such as yours, gun-related deals -- including shooting ranges, conceal-and-carry, and clay shooting -- are on hiatus as we review our internal policies for the types of deals that we feature. Groupon has always aimed to offer deals driven by local consumer preference and request; at this time, enough consumers have asked us to eliminate the category that we believe a review is warranted. A decision has not yet been made.
Thank you again for contacting us and please let me know if I can do anything else to help.
Regards,
Matt W

Looks like they will be receptive, then. I'm going to send them an email even though I'm not currently a subscriber, hopefully everyone else can do the same. I'll spread the word on this. Thanks!
