Guess what radio host endorses Cheaper than Dirt

Beck is often hilarious, although truth be told I think the interplay between he and his producer Stu often makes for the funnier moments. Beck came on my favorite AM station shortly after 9-11 and I really took to his very insightful gallows humor.

As the years have passed I have found him to be increasingly alarmist and just a bit too "chicken little" for my tastes....but he still makes me laugh anytime he's not in his downer mode.

I doubt Beck was buying cases of PMags after Sandy Hook, so I have no reason to believe he knows what most of his target demo thinks about CTD.
Exactly what is your and some other's problem with CTD?

They hate it, because its capitalist, period! They all seem to think that they are entitled to fixed pricepoints based upon a command & control type socialist economy.

I would not be surprised in the least to discover that many of those popping open these "hate" threads, all voted for the guy who is almost singularly responsible for their current plight, that or they didn't vote at all. What we're seeing here, is that "occupy wall street" really reached its target audience big time.

Took advantage of people? Its called "capitalism" for a reason, a reason that has clearly lost you somewhere along the way, no doubt due in large part to the socialist indoc you inculcated as you traversed the public school system.

Sir, you give me to much credit. You are assuming that I attended school. :D

I'm a firm believer in capitalism. Companies like Brownell's, and Midway, haven't raised their prices during this temporary spike in the industry. CTD has. Who you do business with is an important part of capitalism.

Or are you just saying that I have to like who, you like?

For pure entertainment and a vehemently pro 2A radio host, Anthony Cumia of Opie and Anthony. Political incorectness and Jimmy Norton make for a hoot.

Also that late night conspiracy theorist guy on AM radio (1420 or 1400) is hilarious. Usually I wear my tin foil hat to keep the HAARP generated MKULTRA AM radio waves out, but sometimes I'll take it off for a good laugh.... After all that's what THEY want me to do.

If your idea of not raising prices is the definition of capitalism then let me suggest reading a book on the free market system.

Radio is a business first. Without advertisers there is no money unless you pull an npr gig.

All, I repeat all radio hosts play to advertisers first for revenue then to the audience.

They all talk out of both sides of their mouth and if they deny it, they've become delusional like many of their listeners.

When S&W signed the governments agreement and sold out gun owners, then was American bought and the new owners went on Gun Talk, there was still no clear picture on wether the new owners would up hold that agreement.

I called after listening because the host Tom, did not bring it up. After getting on and bringing up the issue and pushing it to get a straight answer very respectfully, I was cut off. Why? Didn't want to piss off support money. Thats how it works, period.

Beck from the beginning touted his show was a fusion of news and entertainment. Nothing has changed.

Oh look a squirrel...................

I live about 10 miles from CTD. I have got some great deals from them over the years. Yes, their ammo prices are a little high. Their gun prices in their sale flyer are pretty good. It is a good store to window shop in. They have a catalog desk if you want anything from the catalog.....chris3

My point was while CTD is welcome to use what ever business model they choose, I'm also able to make choices about where I spend my money.

Under capitalism, water seeks it's own level, and I'm just fine with that.

If you wish to continue to do business with CTD, that's your business, I have nothing to say about it. Well...............now that I think about it, I probably would chuckle under my breath when you walked by. (If we shot at the same range.)

So what if Beck`s a little nuts? Hows that old saying go, in desperate times fight fire with fire, or better yet, turn off the radio, tv, go sit on your porch sippin your favorite adult beverage (hic) til things come back into perspective?

You may just have identified my problem. I spend some time sitting on my porch sipping my favorite adult beverage, which happens to be water. Now I do this pretty frequently. So I guess my question is, how long do I have to sit there, before things come back into perspective?

Um, yeah. When you cancel confirmed, paid (and reportedly shipped) orders due to "demand spike" glitches in the supply chain, and then re-fullfill them at the new higher prices, that's called a dishonest business practice. People hate CTD because they're a pain to deal with--and that's the end of it!

Yeah, we complain that prices are high, or availability is low, so that makes us Communists and drum-circling hippie agent provocateurs. Talk about your groupthink

"USE THE CREAM!"

That would be Coast to Coast AM with George Norry. Great stuff!:what:

Art Bell had the show years ago.

Yeah, super ditto! This forum used to be a place of good old fashioned conservatism; like the good old days of February 13th through the 21st. Then all those damn pot smoking commies invaded on the 22nd, we fought back on the 23rd, stalemated until the 28th and ultimately failed to push them out in our final offensive on the 1st of March. The High Road will never be the same.

LOL!

THR is a place to talk guns without all the political baggage. It's a place of inclusion, and I am thankful for it as without a site like this I would never had gotten into firearms the way I have and as a result a 2A advocating NRA member. Granted, it's been difficult to maintain that in this current climate, but if you dislike the attitudes here then I can assure you there are many many MANY other gun forums out there that can meet your standards.

I like Glenn beck, been listening to him for along time.

There was a video on the blaze the other day with Glenn beck and Jerry Miculek, I think they where shooting the S&W 500

Btw I have been listening to rush Limbaugh for nearly 20 years, yep I'm a evil right wing "bitter clinger"

When someone sells a locally available item for X when they can make 1.5X by posting it nationally on GB are they a crook or just expanding the base for their sale to make the most people who want it more will pay? If no one buys it for 1.5X they've wasted their money going to that bigger market and may have to risk putting it out at 1.25 or 1.1 times the local glutted market. Each gamble costs money in the hope of making it back and then some profit.

If you don't like the price of something, don't pay it. If you don't want to pay $1,800 for a previously $900 item, gamble on the price coming down when the supply and demand rebalance. None of us like getting caught in a banic buying environment, but the only thing to do is ride it out and let the rash of first time buyers support the industry and grow the number of gunowners. Heck, the best thing to do is offer to help them learn how to run their new guns, and how to vote to keep them.

My biggest gripe with "Cheaper than Dirt" is their name. Their prices were not competetive before the panic and they are even less so now. I consider what they and many other businesses to be doing as gouging. That doesn't mean i advocate gov't price regulation for their products. It just means i won't do business with them now or in the future.

Anybody who thinks Glen Beck is pro liberty should listen to him describe his centrally planned, censor ridden, "Libertarian" commune. "Freedom town" even dictates what type of shops are allowed and allows only local food, you know, free market and all. It's best described as a Home Owners Association Dictatorship led by Chairman Beck. My favorite is his plan for a "learning center" where people can send their children to be "de-programmed". Oh, the irony.

And no fireworks on the 4th of July.

that clown...sure would like to think the a fellow thr would not think the "the daily clown news" guy is worthy on anything.....

So, to recap, Beck proposes some loony cult like commune that is essentially completely at odds with the values he claims to hold, which anybody can watch the vidoe of in it's entirety, John Stewart makes fun of it, and your defense of Beck is to attack Stewart. Nice try at diverting, but no, Beck's nonsense stands on it's own. By the way, Stewart isn't the only pundit who ripped Beck for his insane hypocricy nonsense. I will say though, Stewart said it well. Beck hides behind liberty in the name of freedom from, not actual freedom.

By the way, Stewart's rip on Beckville is funny but below is truly classic:

We're well away from guns and RKBA at this point. No reason to explore all the rest of this unpleasant subject here at THR.
