Gun Appreciation Day Miracle

I wasn't able to go to any protests as I am too far away from my state capital to do so and lack the time and availability. I was, however, able to spend the day shooting with my family and one person who had never joined me in a shooting trip before, my wife. I've been with my wife for 6 years (married 5), and this weekend we were able to enjoy her first time shooting, and she liked it. Have any of you had this kind of experience before?

Nope. I don't have a wife to take shooting.

I have taken a lot of people shooting for the first time, though, including my best friend (and his sister and mother on different occasions), my Mom (well...her first time since before I was born), my sister, and a female friend of mine. In a few cases (namely my friend's mom and my sister) I was able to take them from uncomfortable to tolerable.

I had a similar experience just this weekend.

After many years of being ... uninterested ... in my "gun hobby", my wife asked me to take her shooting this past Sunday. Caught me by surprise, but I loaded up a few handguns and off we went. We didn't spend all day shooting, but it was nice to have her initiate a day at the range.

Afterward, she suggested that I sell the pristine Colt Mustang Plus-II, and get her something similar, but with less collector value, because she wanted to shoot more often and didn't want to de-value the Colt by using it. (Don't tell her... but I may just keep the Colt and buy her a "utility" pistol.)

Gentlemen, just tell your wives that asking you to give up a gun is unAmerican! It's exactly what Obiden wants to do and we won't stand for it! We live in America! The greatest planet on Earth.

That's pretty funny. But, truth be told, it's actually her pistol. She just hasn't shot it in about 15 years. So I suppose she can sell it if she really wants to. Although I did just order another couple of magazines for it.
