Given the shrinking window of opportunity to buy semi-auto rifles, I decided to make my move now. I just ordered a brand new VEPR II in 7.62x39 with a wood thumbhole stock and 2 30-round steel magazines. This is a post-SAIGA takeover VEPR, so it doesn't take standard AK mags, but I have heard it can be modified to do so. In the meantime, I think the two 30 round SAIGA mags I bought should last for the duration if I can't make other arrangements before the ban.
