Buying firearms tends to be a dilemma for some of us with limited budgets, so I have about $500 coming and this is what is on the aucton block

Lot 1, S&W 646, cool gun, limited production, alum box, Moonclips, Revolver, reloadable brass easily found at range.
con 40S&W, next I wlll need dies and other reloading stuff, just at $509

Lot 2, Start Building lightweight AR, Ace skeleton stock, put together lower on inexpensive reciever from ARFcom, ????upper with M4 forend, 16" A1 barrel, I do not know flattop/fixed carry handle. besides everyone needs an AR...
cons could be expensive to feed, Sighting needs to be determined, I like the flat top/ACOG but $$$$,

Lot 3. S&W 625, Moonclips, Revolver, 45acp will shoot same ammo as 1911
con ???

Lot 4. Do a bunch of upgrades to existing gear; More mags for 1911, Merit Sight Disc for 1894c, Moonclip convert and reblue my 586, new barrels for my NEF - 357, 45/70, 22hornet, get a cylinder for Ruger Singlesix in 22lr, good Flap/hunting holster for my 27-2.

Lot 5. Start an FAL build???
con $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Lot 6. get a Ruger sp101 3"
con ?????

Lot 7 Custom Mini Mauser by Charles Daly in 221 fireball or 22 hornet, blue Action, SS bead blasted Semi Bull barrel 18", plain Walnut Stock
con Custom builds can be $$$$

Lot 8 Something in 44Spec or 45 colt, I don't know why but the 44 spec intregues me????? but the 43 mag leaves me dry.

Lot 9.?????

Why Can't I win the Powerball, probably cause I do not buy a ticket...

Edited to add 44spec or 45 colt

Hooo-kay, here goes...

1. Great gun (I have two of 'em), and lighter than other L-frame equivalents due to the titanium/scandium cylinder. If you want to carry, this is a good choice.

2. I'm not an AR fan, I'm afraid, so I'd give this one a thumbs down...

3. Excellent choice for a range/plinking gun, and if you bore out the cylinder to accommodate the .460 Rowland cartridge, a fairly good hunting revolver as well. However, not so good for concealed carry.

4. Upgrades are always good...

5. Way outside your price range if you want to build something with quality parts.

6. A bit big and heavy for pocket carry: and if you're going to carry in a holster, why not go for a 6-shot K-frame S&W, which is virtually the same size and weight, but has a better trigger and ergonomics?

7. $$$$$... :(

Well, that's my $0.02 worth... I guess in order of preference, I'd go for options 1 or 3 as a first choice, then option 4 as a second choice.

Not being a .40S&W kinda guy I'd either go with option 3 or option 4.

If you're looking for a CCW piece however, Preacherman is on the money as usual.

$500...I'm a C&R fiend at the moment...I could buy a heck of a lot with that...like one of each model of Mosin that Aztec sells, plus enough ammo to shoot until the barrels melt...
