Have any of you gotten security certificate messages or warnings on gun forums, or other gun topic web sites? I've gotten some on ARMSLIST, S&W Gun Forum, and even on some highlighted sites submitted by members on THR.

This has me concerned over possible viruses, scams, and other web security.

Have any of you experienced this?
What precautions do you think we should take?

Thanks.

I'll need more details before I can offer a hypothesis.

Is this a warning from a content filter at your office?

Anything that goes thru Yahoo at the moment is suspect. My Email is OK, but my Wife's throws the security exception in Thunderbird. We have AT&T U-Verse which farmed out their Email to Yahoo years ago.

I'm looking for a solution. I've verified all out settings are the same except for username and password.

Without much information my first suggestion is usually to download Malwarebytes, update it and scan your computer and then if you are using Internet Explorer to download and start browsing with Firefox. You could also try clearing your cache and temporary internet files (a google search will provide a step by step guide).

AT&T here, no issues. Other than arguing the bill down every time you have to renew.

I'm currently using Firefox on Win 8 with free AVG. I also use CCleaner when I think there are too many Flash cookies tracking things and if the messages are correct, have no Flash installed at all.

And researching a stand alone browser for use in a non Windows environment. Why do we need Microsoft if all I do on this netbook is surf the net? Office? Powerpoint? I have all that on the desk top.

Bloat leads to more viral openings.
