Gun Free Zones

They are anti-self-defense zones and nothing more.

Obviously the purpose of gun free zones is too prevent accidents with guns in those zones. The probability of a shooter is virtually zero. And yes good people carrying guns do go crazy, like escalating an argument or being drunk. That being said I'm against gun free zones but recognize why people are for them.

Any evidence that it happens enough to make them worth while?

Gun free zones have killed far more people than they have ever saved.

Any idiot who thinks them a good idea, is just that, an idiot!

Nope, the purpose of the signs is to keep idiot, but law abiding folks from having a gun to be stupid with, ala the NDs we often read about occurring, which unfortunately often hurt other people.

I think there is a glacial realization in the general population that gun free zones don't work. Only neanderthal knuckle dragging liberals stuck in primitive thought mode cannot quite see it. Guns = evil dirty black and nasty. Guns are bad. Therefore gun free zones are heaven.

"Gun Free Zones"?

The only reason you see them is because it's much cheaper to have a dumb sign printed than it is to hire properly trained & motivated armed security people.

The people posting such signs are all in nice, safe, top-floor executive offices and they feel that such signs will give "little old elderly ladies" a "sense of security", even though it's a "false sense of security".
