black cardboard, clear tape or super glue an a bottle of tums or something like that.once you got that down go 2 aspirins:cool:what we do is shoot tums with are 22pistols at 10yds an aspirins with are 22rifles at 25yds.

If possible, I'd have them use .22s, 9 mms, and 5.56 rifles... not slugs from shotguns, .308 rifles, .44 magnums, etc.

Heavy recoil is no fun for a first-time shooter, especially girls. :barf:

Thank you all again. I've ordered some stuff and talked to the grocer. Charcoal Briquettes, what a fantastic idea!! I'm all ears to more ideas. I'll take pictues and post them. It's not till the end of June so I have some time to prepare.

Bowling Pins. Go to a local bowling alley and see if they have thrown out the ones that are going to be replaced. I shoot these things all day long and never get tired of it. .22 will knock'em over, but I've shot the very top of them with my PU Scope Mosin Nagant and let me say, they do at least a 1310 degree spin in the air before they hit the ground.

Thistles that grow in front of the berm. Hard-boiled eggs with the shells removed. Spoiled fruit. Paintballs. Saltines.

Ice cubes.
Mouldy cheese.
Large fresh fruit (pumpkings, watermelons, etc.)
Balloons.

Or... take a cookie sheet and spray no-stick oil on the bottom. Sprinkle (don't spread) sugar over the entire sheet until it reaches up to the brim. Heat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and allow the sugar to melt. Remove pan and let it cool for a day.

Viola! Destroyable "glass" panes that dissolve when wet--ants like 'em too! :D

Another idea regarding the charcoal briquettes... spray paint 'em with some cheap krylon to make them a little easier to see against darkly-colored front sight posts. You could even label a point value for each--black are 100 points, reds are 50, or whatever. Have a little friendly competition, with the winner getting a small prize. :)

Party Ballons

Put a little flour or baby powder on them and you will get a big puff of "smoke". Also, watermellons are great (ever watch Mail Call?)/

Take a couple boxes of clay traps set them up and let them shoot them with the 22's, 9mm, and the 223. I dont know any one that doesnt like to see stuff break when they hit it.
