Gun-Grabber Regime Preparedness List

spare parts are a must, but how about buying an additional firearm identical to the one you already have as a 'parts gun', per se.

that's what I'm doing. sort of like noah's ark - two of everything. but not everyone can put that kind of money into a contingency plan that might never be needed. in those cases, one gun and a spare parts kit will usually do you almost as well.

for some guns, you can even go cheaper - instead of buying the entire parts kit, just buy the parts that are likely to wear out or get lost. for an AR, for instance, this would be an LPK with an BCG small parts set. about $80.

I would say that for each gun that you desire to upkeep, one parts kit (or field parts kit), six quality magazines, and 3000 rounds of ammunition will hold you for quite some time (provided you use and replace the ammo).

As for Katrina, Food and Water and Shelter are always big items that need to be included. But the system is not likely to ban those anytime soon.

I think you'd be better served writing letters, working to get your favorable candidates elected, and turning non shooters into shooters than trying to come up with such a list. Why would you assume any new bans would be the same as the last one? The antis will largely admit the last one didnt work and use that as a reason to push for a harsher ban.

Indeed. And we do. There's an interesting story about that - rather sad, actually. I wrote tons of letters and ran all over the internet raising support against the prospective CA mail-order ammo bans, and I got a nice mailed letter from the Gov assuring me that he respects gun ownership and would definitely veto such a ban.

So when microstamping came out, I along with everyone else figured nobody in their right mind would go along with such a stupid, impractical idea. Even the anti-gun people doubted it would pass. Then when it did, most folks still sat on their butts, confident that Swartz would veto.

Turns out (according to one guy with the inside scoop) that GOA did something to really p** off the Gov's cabinet - something to do with forcing the resignation of a member. In retaliation, the Gov signed the bill.

Since then, I've learned the hard way that even Republican, gun owning, career founded on guns (terminator), politicians that "respect gun ownership" are still .. politicians. =(

I don't worry about the assault weapons ban. I live in California, we already have AWB2,3, and 4.

"1. Complain quietly and vote for the other guy.
2. Complain loudly and campaign for the other guy.
3. Shout loudly and protest in the streets.
4. Shut up and start loading magazines.

Each of these responses depend on how extreme the government is willing to get. Right now I'm at step 1, as the candidates are finalized I'll probably move up to step 2. I'm not going to post what would cause me to move to steps 3 or 4, but this is a personal list that all gun-owners should have."

I have the feeling that but for the most desperate of us, not too many will ever get to step 4, regardless of what the gubmint does. Most people have too much to lose, just like the Jews in Europe at the beginning of WW2. Of course, by the time they feel they have nothing left to lose, it will be too late.

For $5000, you can readily have one of the most capable and sustainable collections of arms that will - with reasonable care - last you well past your lifetime.

And if every gun owner sent that same $5K to pro-2A politicians, we'd be able to buy NIB M240 GPMGs and RPGs over the counter by the end of the next election term.

Sorry, but the "I gotta get mine before they're banned" attitude is BS.
