Gun Group Takes Up Kerry Offer to Meet With 'All the People'

(CNSNews.com) - In a speech to the NAACP on Thursday, Sen. John F. Kerry said he would truly be a "uniter," and would meet with anyone -- even those who disagree with him. Gun Owners of America said it is ready to take up John Kerry on his offer.

Kerry said that when you're president, "You need to talk to all the people -- and that's exactly what I intend to do.

"I will be a president who truly is a uniter," Kerry said, "not one who seeks to divide our nation."

"Excellent!" said GOA Director of Communications Erich Pratt. "We're so glad to hear that you want to talk with us and help unite this nation. How about working with us to defend the Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights?

Gun Owners of America notes that Sen. Kerry has not shown up for most of his Senate votes this year. However, Pratt said, "He did fly into town this March -- specifically to ban several scores of semi-automatic firearms."

GOA says Kerry's voting record on gun rights issues has been "consistently poor," and the group said it "looks forward to discussing these issues with his campaign. Gun Owners of America said it has contacted the Kerry campaign to take the candidate up on his offer.

John Kerry and Larry Pratt in the same room? The Secret Service would probably be ordered to remove all of Pratt's teeth before the meeting.

ROFL!

Man, I hope Erich goes to Sam's and buys one of those wholesale sized containers of maple syrup, because my spidey sense is telling me that there's going to be a big plate of waffles when it comes to The Botoxican's promise to meet with all Americans.

If he takes this up, be sure to take several camera's, record everything and post it.

It's almost a pity there isn't a 'citizens against big politicians parties' group. A group that does adds on both parties at the same time!

Since the media made such a big deal about Bush and his refusal to speak at the NAALCP, it would be fun to see the NRA or the GOA or both, invite Kerry to speak at a large meeting of theirs' before the election. Can you imagine Kerry agreeing to this? I certainly can't. Yet how many gun owners are there in America? Close to 100 million? Granted, not all gun owners belong to the NRA and/or the GOA, but then not all black Americans belong to the NAALCP either.
