This one especially for The Grand Inquisitor, with apologies to Stephen King--"frenchman's pecker" --i.e. a large handgun.

Said of a big bore black powder front end loader, 'Lemme get my belch-fire louden-boomer'.

salty.

You folks have already listed many I've heard. Others I've heard / seen:

-FBPP Tamara is the first I saw use this
-Smokepole
-Blunderbuss
-Comforter Most likely came from from "comforting - not comfortable"
-Pillow Partner
-Pocket Rocket
-Wheelie
-Bottom Feeder

I can't believe I am going to type these: Ultimate Shotgun, Tactical Bling Bling, Racegun, Tricked-Out Tool.

Somewhere I heard a person refer to a firearm as " Portable Projectile Launcher". Must have been an engineer - huh? ;)

The one I have been hearing from the gangsta crowd lately is...
Toaster...the first time someone asked me what new toasters we had in, I looked at him really stupid like. :D

I usually call it a noisemaker, or instrument. :D

Wes

EDITED to turn that back into English.

"Ma Duace" M-2 BMG or more comenly refered to as "Heavy Son of a B*tch" after so poor grunt had to hump it for 20 miles.....

I've always liked "firestick," "bangstick," "smokepole," "Hand Cannon," and "Bullet Hose."

My two guns have their own special names:

My Ithaca M49 .22: "Karait" after the small brown poisonous dust snake in Rikki-Tikki-Tavi by Rudyard Kipling

And my J.C. Higgins M20 12 gauge: "El Viejo" The Old Man in Spanish, which is appropriate, considering that gun is a few years older than my dad, and forty something years older than me...
