I don't start many threads, so I feel this is important!
I don't know about all Insurance Companys, but mine requires a seperate addition to the home owners insurance for Guns and Jewelry.
Jewelry was easy enough, it pretty much has only come from one store, bust out the catalog and tell the insurance company HOW MUCH.
Gun's on the other hand, was and is a shocker, They wanted a "Detailed Report". I was totally blown away, nickles and dimes here and there have added up to alot. Good deals when purchased, have high replacement values if ever stolen or destroyed. Building a few part-by-part spread loaded alot of the cost, so to see what they are really worth was a suprise. A gun Purchased in 2002 at a retail of $450, may now have a retail $686. Some guns aren't in production anymore, so replacement value could be 2x the originial price.
You maybe shocked to find out what your 'small' collection will add up to at retail and replacement cost, expecially if you've gotten good deals
