There is no such thing as a Gun Of The Month Club.

There are fruit of the month clubs, wine of the month clubs, and many others. Those that sign up with these get a certain fruit, wine, or whatever the club sends out every month. Usually there is a tie-in with the month too, a theme if you will.

Now, what if there was a Gun Of The Month Club?

Every month members with get a new gun. The gun would have something to do with the month or season in which it was received.

Now we have to decide what gun goes out with each month.

Here is an example.

In many places dove season opens in September. Therefore, the September gun of the month should be some sort of light-weight, field type shotgun. Something like a 20 gauge over and under shotgun.

Spring is the time of year when many people enjoy hiking and exploring the woods. May's gun of the month should be some sort of gun that is ideal for trail carry. A small, double action, 357 magnum revolver would fit the bill.

Your turn.

Pick a month and what gun should be sent out on that month.

December should be an M1, either rifle or carbine. That is the month of the Pearl Harbor attack and our entry into World War Two. The gun would have to be related to that conflict.

GOM club...

November (deer season in most of the US) gun should be a made-in-the-USA, oil-finished-wood-stocked, bolt-action, thutty-ought-six deer rifle, with an old-style steel tube Weaver K4 'scope.

A further thought: Extra points if it is a nicely Bubba'd '03 or '03A3 or M17. OK, even an M-98 bringback, if converted to 8mm-'06.

Alexander A--But we can dream, can't we???

Ink Ed--Mebbe one of those pink S&W short-bbl revolvers!

The March gun of the month is a GI model 1911, since on March 29 1911, the Colt Model 1911 was officially adopted by the US Army.

This is an idea that won't fly. Collectors want to have some control over what they buy. Plus, there's too much money involved for just random purchases.

April would be a no lock S&W md. 58 with tapered 5" barrell.

Why you say.

My birthday is in April and I want one.:D

Cheers,

ts

If it was up to me I would want the box-o-bullets of the month club. Then you could try out the many flavors of ammo in your selected calibers that you would probably never bother to try otherwise.:D Plus lots better on your wallet.;)

I'd go broke!

I did a lot of Antelope hunting in October. So a flat shooting 6mm + long range rifle might be a good choice here?

Or since it's the month of Halloween something scary and black?

Please close this thread, it sounds like a joke. I've been telling my wife I joined the Gun of the Month Club two years ago, and she STILL believes me. :neener:

For July, the gun of the month has to be a flintlock rifle. A replica of something they used in the Revolutionary War.

We need to have a Ruger Blackhawk included somewhere.

I am working on that one.

Considering the prices of some of these "Of the month" clubs, I'd hate to see what the "gun of the month club would run....
