Sorry I left out Hoppes. In hind sight it looks like I would have done better to have left off Eezox and included Hoppes. Should I change it or have most of the Hoppes users already voted?

FWIW, I came up with the choices by searching TFL and THR and those were the ones mentioned the most. I have only used four of them.

I am learning a bit from this. I exspected Breakfree to have a big following but the FP 10 has more users than I would have guessed. I might have to try some.

FP-10
George was kind enough to send me a free sample and I've never looked back. Sure 'slicks' things up nicely. Also, I really do like the smell.

Break Free CLP all the way!!! Sure stinks
I switched from Eezox to Breakfree because I couldn't stand the smell of the Eezox !

I use Mpro for cleaning.

Good poll. These kinds of threads are very useful for gleaning knowledge from the aggregate experience (Huh ? Wish I knew what that meant :) ).

I learned a lot on TFL about cleaners, lubricants, and preservatives from these kinds of threads.

Been using LPS 2&3....

for years along with CLP and a graphite grease and rig. Just got a sample of Miltec oil and grease and they are really great stuff. Got a sample of FP-10 and it is very good too....chris3

I am currently in the Breakfree research mode. Been using it for about a year with great results.

On my modern guns I use automatic transmission fluid or Shooter's Choice grease. On my black powder guns I use Ox-Yoke Wonder Lube (T/C Bore Butter is the same thing). I plan to try Ballistol on my BP guns, though.

I mostly use Breakfree. Also use Hoppe's for cleaning. Use automotive synthetic moly-grease on things such as slide rails, wear-points. The moly-grease was $2.00 for a 1lb. can. Excellent results so far.

Break-free is OK. I prefer "Snake Oil" from Dillon.

EEzox gave me skin growths that combined the less attractive aspects of calluses & warts.:barf: No fooling!Good - but not that good - lubricant, tho...:neener:

How about Sheath for just oiling up the outside. To me that stuff is like the final touch after the cleaning is all done and the smell is like nothing else!:D

I use sperm wale oil.

It's the very best.

And it's as anti-PC as you can get.

FP-10

It took a lot of years to find something better than Breakfree.

That something better is FP-10.;)

(Thanks, George)

FP-10 I used Break free since 1982 in the Corps
I tried the FP-10 a few months ago and the increase in lubricity is immediately noticable and it cleans better as well it really is a superior product and Break Free is good stuff
