I live in the Cherry Hill, NJ/Philly, PA area. I'm looking for local indoor ranges. Right now, I need ones where I can also rent guns as my permit still hasn't arrived. :)

I just needed to bookmark this thread, as I have family out there that I am trying to convert. Glad to see everyone in Jersey isn't terrified of guns. I'm from Audubon originally, have some family in Oaklyn. :)

Only indoor range in NJ I know of is Ray's up of Rt. 22. There is Ready, Aim, Fire in PA right across the border in Bristol. Most of the ranges in NJ are private clubs.

As for everyone being terrified of guns in NJ. . .it's not easy here in the PRNJ, but there are a few of us that can actually think for ourselves.

About an hour away, in PA, there's also Targetmaster. I've shot there several times, and it's a pretty good range. I don't remember what their range fees are, but they allow rifle shooting, and they rent full auto, along with the normal array of firearms.

They're at 255 West Chester Pike, Chadds Ford, PA; website is www.targetmaster.com.

Cherry Hill, Oaklyn, Audubon! I grew up in Collingswood. There used to be a couple of ranges nearby, but they went the way of most of the gun shops around here.

There are a couple of ranges right in Center City Philadelphia. There is Colosimos on Spring Garden St., but you might have to wade through a crowd of Millionmoms. They like to picket Colosimos every once in awhile.

There is also Old City Indoor Pistol Range, 336 N. 10th St (215 238 1348). The last time I checked, they were only open Mon.-Fri., 9 to 4.

The closest one in Joisey that I know of, that is open to the public, is the range at the Police Assoc. of South Jersey, in Berlin (856 753 5866). There is also Bob's Little Sport Shop on Delsea Dr. in Glassboro (856 881 7575), but that's kind of a haul.

Try Houges (Hauges)? Its right off I-295 in West Deptford, about 20 mins. south of Cherry Hill. Never shot there, but been inside to look around. They rent handguns and I think they allow indoor rifle shooting too. I believe they're in the phone book if you want to give a call first.

I don't think you can rent guns in NJ unless you have a FOID or whatever it's called there.

Shore Shot Pistol Range in Lakewood, NJ.

Not really that close to you, but this is the only place in NJ that I know rents.

I want to qualify this, because it would be an hour's drive for the guy. At Targetmaster, fees are $20/lane, $12 for the second guy if there's two of you. They let you shoot .223 with (their) frangible ammunition. They've got a banned ammo list now - it used to just be CCI blazer, now they've gone so far as to refuse winchester white box, and there were a few other brands I forget (wolf, etc.)

Caveat Emptor. Still, if you're willing to drop a few bucks, their range is nice, their selection's good, they've got a neat used handgun counter and it's climate controlled!

My personal favorite range is the out door range near french creek state park. it's at the end of Laurel road in Elverson, PA. It's absolutely free but you can only shoot 3 rounds at a time.

cnk, my apologies, the statement about "terrified of weapons" was purely in sarcasm and jest. No offense intended.

Thanks for the thread and the info about where to take my nieces and nephews when I'm in town.
