Anyone know of a good gun safe that will fit in a standard closet? Browning makes a model that is only 22" deep. Unfortunately, it is only 25" wide. I'm looking for something about that depth, only much wider. Anyone know of a brand/model that would fit the bill? Thanks!

Homak

Consider a Homak 2-door locker. I wouldn't really call it a safe, as it's somewhat thin, though it can be bolted to the wall studs and floor. Mine holds 4 or 5 long guns, 6 or so pistols, and a fair amount of ammo. It locks using those pick-proof round keys, with different locks for the pistol and rifle sides. Weighs probably 60 pounds, enough to stop children and most casual burglars.

I sell a model that is 59 x 28 x 18 which is a good closet size. I haven't seen any much larger than that.

The problem you have is the wider doors are heavy, and put a lot of leverage on the safe when the door swings open. On a safe that's not very deep, this creates a bad tipping problem.

You might consider two smaller safes side by side. The smallest safes I sell are 59 x 22 x 16. Two of them would give you roughly 59 x 44 x 16.

How big is the closet?

are you going to use the closet for anything else? If not, and you are a little handy, you could turn the whole closet into a safe. A good solid door with some of that heavy duty steel mesh grating that they use on cat walks and home made BBQ's bolted to the back of it, and a dead bolt in each corner of the door. I think that would detract most smash & grab thiefs.
