Gun safes?

I am looking to get a gun safe to lock them away from the baby I am trying to have. I am not worried about theft where I live so do I realy need a thick fire rated safe or is there a scaled down version. I am only looking for about a 5 gun safe and it realy only needs to be something that is lockable and secure.

you can get a gun cabinet wich is like a scaled up locker from a mega store ( walmart, dicks sporting goods ect) for under 100$

Does that cabinet have a lock on it? Academy has it for under $80.

Don't worry about a fire-rated safe, it's alot of hype!! If your house burns down your guns are gonna fry!!

We get those inexpensive safes up here that go for under $100. at Canadian Tire and Wal Mart. I opted to pay $1,200 for a large fire proof gun safe. Notwithstanding the comment above my life experiences tell me few houses burn completely to the ground without intervention by the fire department. I would rather have the fire protection and at least the hope of saving my gun collection rather than lose everything.
