Gun Shops Near Gainesville Florida?

Hey folks!

Need the help of the group here. I'll be in Florida (specifically Gainesville) for two weeks starting Dec. 1st and I'm looking for gun shops to visit. I'm particularly interested in picking up a few Glock 33 round mags, as I can't get them in my home state of MD. That's not to say I can't own them, I just can't buy them here. It's completely legal for me to buy them out of state and bring them back, but not to buy them here. Go figure, right?

Anyway. Any recommendations for shops to visit in/around the Gainesville area where I might find the mags I want? I need suggestions to be as close to Gainesville as possible, as I won't have access to a car of my own, and getting to shops that are far from where we'll be staying will be a hassle.

Florida is the wrong state for good gun shops.

Best you can do is hope there is a gun show going on in Gainesville while you're there.

That's a terribly incorrect statement about FL gunshops. I lived in FL for 20 years, I visited plenty of good ones.
In fact, the shows are usually overpriced, moreso than a gunshop.

Unfortunately, for the OP, I don't have any input on G'ville. I lived in SW FL, near Ft. Myers.

im in gainesville now, check out Pickett Weaponry in Newberry, just about 5/10 minutes from Gainesville, or Beckwith's, in gainesville, on 13th St. (US441), just south of Paynes Prairie, on the right if you are coming from the North. if you call beckwith's now (352-466-3340), and tell them what magazine you are looking for, I'm pretty sure they could have it for you when you come by in december.

Picketts and beckwiths are the two best... both carry glock but I think picketts is a little cheaper and friendlier but both are good. Beckwiths has a range tho.

Good to know, thanks for the tips fellas. I'll Keep Pickett Weaponry and Beckwith's in my PDA so I can remember 'em, lol.

I appreciate the help, I wish I could just hit my local shop for these mags, but I guess a little leg work is in order.
