The gun show I attended on Sunday in Ft Pierce FL, was extremelly busy. The new sigs "290" were there with lasers for $555.00 with a msrp over 7. Most of the smaller vendors were selling Lcp,lc9,and LCR's. The big guys had Baers stacked up, Kobra carry pistols and other guns that have been very rarelly seen at shows here in FL. At least i have never seen this many Kimbers, Baers, Wilson, and other expensive handguns, laid out on tables like this time.
The new diamondback 9mm, almost went home with me to replace my 380 ruger, but I decided to wait till more reviews were in. It's the smallest 9 or the lot, LC9, nano, sig, etc. I think the Sig was the nicest, followed "looks wise" by the Barreta nano. But the diamonback will work in your pocket, as most if not all the others are too big or shaped wrong to hide like an lcp.I left out Kahr and Keltecs I don't like either of them having had bad experiences with both,Just my preference.
Lots of ar's at low prices, the 2nd GEN slide fire stock which looks more like a regular AR stock, more refined and better looking, also 50 dollars more that Gen 1.Ammo was plentiful, more cases stacked up than before, in all calibers. I picked up some rem 62 grain 223, just 100 rounds and a mag, ammo was $13 a box of 20, pmc 55 grain was $7 a box. Buy I want to see f there is a difference in my 1x7 twist, then if so, move a bit higher to 70 grain. My bud picked up a nice scope, and a 3d laser rangefinder, and a couple boresighters, of course mine was broken, already sent back. But all in all a good day.The new glass with the laser assist is nice, I have to save up for one. That and maybe the diamonback or sig, "because of the built in laser. There is a new laser for the lcp that is relativlly flat, goes on the frame with 2 pins removed and replaced. Doesn't add any real size to the gun, $90 bucks. The sig is very nice looking if you like sigs. And was less money than the 380 sig 238.
I did notice an absense of the normally overwellming Glock presence, whatever that means.

There is one in the Kansas City area this weekend....still do not know if I am going to go or not.

I generally enjoy them, for nothing else then to ogle the tables and people watch.

We had a gun show this past weekend. I didn't notice anything new or unusual. Most of the larger vendors were selling the major brands and had a decent selection. If you knew what you were looking for you could save $20-$40 on a lot of different handguns. The only thing remotely unusual at the show was a bunch of used Taurus Model 82's with lanyard rings on the butt. I don't know where they came from. They averaged $200 and some were broken.

Probably came from J&G selling them for $150. Like these.

The story told to me, true or false I don't know, was some huge security company dumped their entire inventory of Taurus 82s and big distributors picked them up for resale in quantity. Minimum order of 100 units at $100 each, that sort of thing.

It's nice to hear somebody being positive about their experience at a gun show. Not much of that happens around here anymore.

I attended a show in December, with the specific intent of buying a new Walther PPK... There was not ONE new in the box available Sunday afternoon... Several of the bigger dealers I spoke with said they sold out of all they had by Saturday afternoon, or Sunday morning.. Activity was brisk... There were several news storys about Gun Sales being at an all time high before Christmas.. From what I saw, I believe it..
