Took the week off work for some household chores.

Browsing stores and Craigslist during coffee and waiting for paint to dry.

Found a near new RCBS Rockchucker deluxe kit with 223 dies, brass, and primers, $200 from CL :what:

Cabelas HAD a shelf full of American Eagle 223 for $7.50 per 20, got 10 boxes.

Just got back from WalMart, 100rd bricks of CCI MiniMags at $7.25 each, got my 3, sent the wife back for her 3, and even my mom for the last two.

Going to the range today! :neener: To the scalpers!

Good find. I also found something I was looking for a while. Was able to get a Ruger GP100 4" for under $500 shipped. I have been looking for months and was not going to pay gunbroker prices.

My gun stuff find of the week is finding the ability to accept that spending money on gas to look at empty ammo shelves isn't a productive use of time or money.

By the way, this has the potential to be a very good thread.

Went in BassPro in Grapevine today and found one 50 round box of Remington UMC 9mm 115 grain FMJ for about $15. Will be going to Academy this afternoon to see if there is anything left over from this morning's truck.

While I don't fault the op, getting 8 boxes of 22 isn't something I would feel right about. I get my 1-3 boxes and consider myself fortunate. But at least you are shooting them.

Could have bought a Nikon monarch online for 379, chose instead to buy it from an LGS for 400. I consider supporting the local guy to be a good deal.

I found a used Lee Classic turret press and six turrets to go with it three rifle charging dies and the powder measure for a heck of a deal I am very happy happy happy :D:D:D

Ruger blackhawk 357

With a 30mm pistol scope on it for $250.:neener: This is an older 3 screw model in good condition. Fortunately the gun had not been tapped. Unfortunately, because it had the pistol scope on it the rear sight had been removed. If it had the rear sight I have no doubt that I could have flipped it for $350 without the scope. The scope is an older 1.25x4x22 Tasco that was probably made in the late 60's or early 70's in Japan. This is not the ordinary Trashco scope. Anyhow, I took the scope off and sold the gun without sight to a friend for the $250 I had into it. I figure the scope is worth $100-$150. By the way, I was liquidating some excess ammo at grossly inflated prices when I came across the deal on the Blackhawk.:neener:

Boooooooo!

Sorry, i am the anti scalper/flipper. Check my for sale stuff. Everything is at pre-panic/cost.

I feel like hooking up my fellow shooters.

This is part of the problem; using shill buyers to buy everything you can find. I buy what I can use and leave some for the next guy.

It's not going to get better until we make it better ...just saying.

I will give you that making my mom go down was greed on my part but my wife shoots as well. I do consider her purchase to be her ammo. To be fair, I am not scalping them and will share if someone runs low and wants to come out to the range.

I went into my local Gander mountain and bought a 525 round bulk box of .22 lr.... Then went back 4 hours later and bought another box of it because I figured I had given others a fair enough opportunity.

.... And I have already shot about 400 rounds of it...

I thought about this...

...I haven't found anything I guess but I'm not looking for anything.

On the doorstep the find will be M2 Ball from the CMP.

A very heavy batch will soon arrive, with half being driven to a friend's house.
We both store it as a hedge against the future.

Scored Twice!!

I found 2 things - A friend at work sold me 500 rounds of 22 LR. He had if for years and said he doesn't even own a 22 anymore!
And I scored 2000 CCI Large pistol primers on-line. Primers were priced reasonable but I hate that darn Hazmat fee!! :cuss:
Still totally worth it tho... :D

Walked into Bass Pro around noon looking for some .40 s&w ammo and walked out with 2 Ammo boxes of CCI 22lr Minimags (1600 rounds each). Had not seen 22 ammo on the shelves in a long time and these were set out next to plain ole empty ammo boxes and turned the wrong way. I really lucked out. Now I can take all my 22's out for some fun with friends and family and still have a nice little stash. BTW I had been down to 1 brick of thunderbolts for 6 months.

Don't know if this counts brand new here but visiting with my folks found out my dad sold his 1911 but still had 300 rounds of acp. I made him an offer of $100 had several boxes of jhp as well thought that it was a good deal

ID, Maybe I was a little more accusatory than I should have been, and I apologize for that. I don't mean to judge anyone. I just get frustrated. I was speaking with a co-worker yesterday who told me, among other quantities of assorted calibers, he had 20,000 rounds of 5.56. Really?

I don't believe in government conspiracy theories. I firmly believe this shortage is of our own making. This whole thing was started by fear of what we were afraid might happen, not what was actually happening. It's like the oil/gasoline shortage during the Carter administration. We were told there was a shortage of gasoline, so we all went out and filled up our cars, creating a shortage. (Now you know how old I am) It becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy.

My message here is don't gouge and don't hoard. Buy what you really need, leave some for the next guy, and we'll get through this together.

Sorry, I don't mean to rant. I just had to get it off my chest.

Stay safe,
spm

Don't stress it. There are plenty of frustrations going around due to ammo. We do need to be civil to each other and share if needed. My whole point was to keep ammo out of the hands of the scalpers and into the hands of shooters.
