Gun TV

https://www.guntv.tv/

I know today is April 1st or April Fools day. I saw this posted back in December 2015 on several sites. Here is one of them

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/b...uns-to-launch-in-the-us-in-2016-a6760916.html

It is supposed to be run by the "Social Responsibility Network". The site is just one page with some mission statement.

http://socialresponsibilitynetwork.com/

There was write up in the Washington Times that says gun TV was supposed to launch January 20 2016.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/jan/7/guntv-home-shopping-channel-for-firearms-could-boo/

Now there has been several more postings about Gun TV starting up today. I don't see channel numbers and what provider is carrying them, assuming they really are legit. Like I said I saw several sites mention this yesterday and even earlier.

So I did check before posting this...

“Fully loaded”: Gun TV is the new late night home shopping channel for firearms fans

https://www.rt.com/usa/337925-gun-tv-shopping-channel/

"US citizens will be able to add firearms to the list of items they can order from home shopping channels in the small hours when Gun TV is launched Friday.

The shopping network will sell firearms, ammunition and hunting accessories, and is similar to ‘traditional’ home shopping channels in that it will broadcast in-depth product demonstrations and provide detailed product information"

Looking at the older stories on this, it was supposed to have started in January 2016. There were going to start out with 6 hours a week and then go to 24/7. Three minutes out of every hour is supposed to be devoted to
firearm education and safety training.

Anyway, I hope it is real and I would like to see what cable TV/Satellite providers will carry it and channels it will be on.

Why? Do people need QVC for guns? There is this new-newfangled Interweb thing?

And despite the internet, QVC is on 24hr/day 364 days a year and about a dozen other channels too.

But I get what your saying.

Its based in CA but I'm not where the studio is.

I'm hoping that if nothing else, it removes some of the taboo and shows people that guns are a commonly owned item in about 100 million homes.

So far, I'm not impressed. I watched a lot of it last night, and it looks like it's being rerunned tonight as of 120am. The price on the Taurus 709 Slim isn't great, and seriously, how can they spend 6 hours talking about one gun?

I would have thought several different new and used firearms would be for sale per hour and firearm related videos interspersed between the auction segments. If they are just going to show the same gun for 6 hours. Not many will watch that channel.

I'll bet Bud's Guns would probably do a better job running this channel.
