Dunno if the law has changed: One of our local BP guys and I got into a discussion about areas of authority in law enforcement. He had been in the BP for over twenty years.

The BP can stop anybody, anywhere, at any time, and ask for proof of citizenship. They don't have to profile or not-profile. They want to ask, you have to answer and prove.

IOW, the laws are on the books. There's plenty of authority. The problem is that TPTB don't want to solve the problems we see, because they don't care about what bothers us.

My relatives who were born in raised in a southern town tell the story of a man who lived in their town. He was one of the only 4 black people in the town and his name (what he was called by all the towns people) was ****** Jim. He responded to this name, he was friends with the townspeople, and got along very well with everyone. This was not meant or received as an insult, and it was widely accepted.

If the townspeople called him that, then they werent his friend. I'd like to see how friendly these townspeople would be if Jim decided to date one of their daughters.

I knew an elderly woman who referred to black people as *******. I knew that she had no grudges against them by her attitude and conversations I had with her. It's just a word! It's a word that used to be "no big deal" and she meant no harm by it.

Umm no.. it is a big deal and it is meant to cause harm. That's why it's a racial slur. I know this line of thinking might be unpopular here, just my opinion. I bet that old lady wouldnt appreciate someone reffering to women are female dogs and then trying excuse their offensive language by saying.. "Oh, it's no big deal.. it's just a word"

I talk to some other people and they said all kinds of bizzare crap happens late at night in Waffle House establishments..
Lesson learned.. Dont go to the Waffle House and the South is still filled with a bunch of racist jerkoffs.

Yeah...and "some black folks all gots de rythym"...and "some Chinese people all look alike"...

:barf:

Glad to know that certain stereotypes are acceptable to certain people, as long as they are addressed at others who live in certain areas and talk with certain accents.

Yep...YOUR bigotry is just fine. Go into a Waffle House at three a.m., and you'll find a representative group of people from that area. Glad to know that some folks can still be comfortable with their stereotyping...as long as it's against Southern caucasian people.

Sheesh.

Ah shore am glad that they warn't no racist jerkoffs calling African-American people "monkeys" and "gorrillas" and such that came to light after all that there Rodney King goin's on in Los Angeles. And Ah'm also raht proud that Mark Furman dee-cided to go live in that Southern state of Idaho when all his garbage got tumped over....
